Professional Background

Dr. Victor is an author, teacher, researcher and clinical neuropsychologist in private practice. In addition to her faculty appointment in the Department of Psychology at CSUDH, she also serves as a Volunteer Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at University of California, Los Angeles where she trains and supervises clinical psychology graduate student externs/interns and postdoctoral fellows in the practice of clinical neuropsychological assessment.

Dr. Victor holds licensure as a clinical psychologist (PSY21150) and was board certified in Clinical Neuropsychology in 2010 (American Board of Professional Psychology). She completed her APA-accredited internship at the West Los Angeles Veterans Healthcare System in 2004 before going on to complete her two-year APA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center (2004-2006).

Her research interests focus on the impact of cultural, linguistic and other early life experiences on neurocognition across the lifespan as well as the detection of performance and symptom invalidity in neuropsychological assessment. She has co-authored multiple publications in these areas of research. She was also the 2014 recipient of the CSUDH Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activities Faculty Recognition award.

Current interests also include the neurophysiology of trauma and dissociation and trauma-induced psychological disorder. Other areas of research include the utility of mindful awareness practices in educational settings and the development and evaluation of high impact co-curricular, experiential educational practices in systems psychodynamics.
