Federal and State Income Taxation, Estate and Gift Taxation
Malamud teaches federal income taxation at CSUDH. Prior to teaching, he worked for many years for a Big Eight accounting firm and for a national accounting firm, and has also worked as a tax attorney. Malamud is also a prolific writer with over 100 articles. Subjects include estate planning and federal and California tax issues. He has been featured is such publications as Virginia Tax Review, Houston Business and Tax Journal, Journal of Taxation of Investments, ABA Torts and Insurance Law Journal, Marquette Sports Law Journal, Tax Notes, State Tax Notes, Spidell’s California Taxletter, Elder Client Planner and Los Angeles Lawyer among others. Some of his articles include “Amending Closed Years to Increase Carryovers,” “Allocation of the Joint Return Marriage Penalty and Bonus,” “How the IRS Can Close the Online Auction Tax Gap,” “An Analysis of the AMT and Suggested Fixes,” and “It’s Time to Do Something About the Tax Gap.”
