Professional Background

Erbe is the author of Approaches to Managing Organizational Diversity and Innovation (IGI Global, 2014), Negotiation Alchemy: Global Skills Inspiring & Transforming Diverging Worlds (Kendall Hunt, 2021), Holding These Truths: Empowerment and Recognition in Action (Berkeley: Public Policy Press, 2021), has authored numerous journal articles including for Harvard Negotiation Law Review, and also has written and published national violence prevention curriculum for middle schools and written about sexual harassment in schools.

She is a mediator, Paul Harris Fellow, Fulbright Senior Specialist in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution and 2014 Fulbright Distinguished Chair in American Studies, PUC-Rio. She has studied India’s use of ombuds to confront government corruption. Her scholarship on human trafficking has been translated into several languages by the United Nations. She has also taught at the University of Oslo International Summer School, with students that included Israelis and Palestinians, and facilitated cross-ethnic dialogue with the Nansen Network during the Balkans war.

Restorative justice is an additional area of expertise—for a brief time, she prosecuted domestic abuse cases and currently serves as a victim offender mediator.
