Professional Background

New Jersey Native Lynn Gary Atkins, Jr. brings eighteen years of choral teaching experience to his current position, previously working in New Jersey and Virginia as a choral director. Among his accomplishments, Lynn was part of a team of teachers responsible to helping to shape the look of New Jersey’s LGBT Inclusive Curriculum for Visual and Performing Arts. Conscious of the effect that music has on humankind, Atkins is proud of the time he spent as Artistic Director of One Voice Chorus Richmond between 2013-2019, where he spearheaded an organization dedicated to healing the racial divisions of the Richmond Metropolitan Community through choral music. Equally at home working with the music of Bach and Bernstein, Lynn hopes to keep human connection at the forefront of all music making.
