Negotiation, Gender and Racial Discrimination, Workplace Flexibility, Newcomer Adjustment
Lai’s research interests include negotiations, workplace flexibility, diversity/discrimination, and newcomer adjustment. Her 2007 Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes (OBHDP) publication on gender and negotiations won the 2015 Most Influential Article Award by the Conflict Management Division of the Academy of Management. Lai has served on the editorial board for the Journal of Organizational Behavior since 2012, and served as ad hoc reviewers for multiple major journals and conferences since 2007. Her research has appeared at media outlets such as the Washington Post and NPR.
Prior to joining CSUDH, she was a tenure-track assistant professor of Management in the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. At Tulane, she taught undergraduate, MBA (including full-time, professional and global MBAs) and executive education.
