Professional Background
Becker held the rank of lieutenant in the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department for 31 years, and retired at the administrative level. He was a training officer at the rank of deputy sheriff, sergeant, and served as a lieutenant/watch commander. Becker also performed as a supervisor at various ranks in jail/custody environments, as well as a field patrol, and spent three years as a drill instructor in the LAC Sheriff’s Department Academy. He has 11 years of experience as a criminal justice adjunct professor/lecturer at CSUDH.
